The Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency
The Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency, also known as “MIGA,” is an agency in association with the World Bank Group that supports and/or sponsors Foreign Direct Investment into developing countries to develop and progress the livelihoods of people.
The tool utilized for carrying this out is to provide Political Risk Insurance, or “guarantees,” to members of the private sector.
Such “guarantees” are eligible to groups like Capital Corp Merchant Banking Inc. who recognize the prospective rewards of investing in emerging markets while possessing the ability to hedge against the associated risks of conducting business in potentially volatile foreign markets.
Therefore, when Capital Corp Merchant Banking Inc. has developed a relationship with a Client that is located in a country eligible for the MIGA insurance, Capital Corp Merchant Banking Inc. will require that the Client provide a Country Risk Insurance to address such situations as Currency Transfer Restrictions, Expropriation, and War and Civil Disturbance.
Respectfully yours,
Capital Corp Merchant Banking
